Every summer, the  Empire Fulton Ferry State Park in Brooklyn, New York, is the setting for the Annual Outdoor Sculpture Show.  For the past 20 years, artists have created and installed their artwork along this popular stretch of prized waterfront park along the East River framed by the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.

The Large Rocks along the park walkway inspired me to investigate the notion of ‘grey space’ - that space between what we know and what we imagine.  The rocks are off-limits to the public, creating a barrier between the land and the water.   With special permission from the Parks Department,  I scrambled among the boulders,  creating a web around and between the rocks lining walkway and the river.  By wrapping them in a cobalt blue web of stretch nylon, I also called attention to their shape and beauty often overlooked in this popular and dramatic setting.
